COD MW4 Weapons & Unlocks

October 20–21 launch weapon briefing, full original reread October 23. Beta requirements, carried DMZ guns and cosmetic Blueprints are separate scopes.

The official MW4 launch roster contains 33 weapons: 24 primaries, eight secondaries and one melee weapon. The table below records the published Create-a-Class player-level requirements. Two sniper entries conflict within the same official briefing, so their competing levels are shown explicitly rather than presented as settled unlocks.

On a small screen, scroll the table sideways to read every column.

Player Level is the Multiplayer Create-a-Class unlock track, not the weapon’s own attachment level

Base unlock, Blueprint and carried DMZ gun

Create-a-Class opens at Player Level 4. A later level in the table refers to access on that track; it is not the maximum weapon level. For example, the M4 is listed at Player Level 14, while its own launch weapon-level cap is 72.

A Blueprint is a configured cosmetic version of a weapon. The Inner Circuit M4 preorder Blueprint’s platform appearance differs, while its published attachments and performance are identical between platform variants. Do not turn that cosmetic difference into a new weapon class.

DMZ uses its own equipment economy. A gun carried out of Hajin is Stash equipment, while permanent repeated purchase access is tied to the appropriate Weapon Manual. A single extraction does not establish a permanent Create-a-Class or DMZ purchase unlock for every gun.

Two sniper levels need an in-game check

The official summary gives Astaroth .57 at Player Level 25 and Signal 50 at Level 50. The individual entries in that same original say Level 10 and Level 35 respectively. This page cannot resolve that internal contradiction from a summary alone.

Open your Multiplayer profile’s Progression view and inspect the specific weapon’s visible requirement in your installed build. Until that check is recorded, use the two values above as an explicit source conflict, not an instruction to grind a guaranteed threshold.

Which classes support attachments?

Primaries and Pistols support Gunsmith. Launchers and the melee weapon use the listed appearance changes rather than the same attachment configuration. Fully leveling a supported weapon opens its Apex Attachment, whose blocked attachment types are weapon-specific.

This is a roster and access reference. It does not rank damage or time-to-kill from unmeasured stats, and a launch list should not be treated as a permanently complete seasonal catalog.

  • Mastery camos — Follow the launch camo chain, compare the actual MP and DMZ mastery requirements, and keep later Warzone and Weapon Prestige tracks separate.
  • M4 unlock & setup — Use the launch M4 unlock and weapon data, understand its Hurricane conversion and separate a blueprint from repeatable DMZ access.
  • Gunsmith & attachments — Configure a supported weapon, read shared unlocks and Apex exclusions, then compare the build in the Firing Range.
