COD MW4 PC Requirements & Hardware Check

Activision Support’s launch specifications checked October 23. Desktop scope; laptop equivalents and future updates can differ.

MW4’s launch desktop minimum is Windows 10 64-bit, Ryzen 5 1400 or Core i5-6600, 8 GB RAM, a listed supported GPU and 115 GB of free SSD space. TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot are additional requirements. The recommended tier targets 90 FPS in Multiplayer on High settings; it is a publisher target, not a result measured on every PC.

Compare your actual machine

Match the full CPU and GPU model names, RAM and available SSD capacity against the relevant row. A laptop card with a similar name is not automatically the supported desktop model. Activision directs uncertain owners to their PC manual.

The provided Steam snapshot lists i7-8700K and RTX 3060, while Activision Support lists i7-8700 and RTX 3060 Ti for Recommended. The September PC blog also uses i7-8700K with RTX 3060 Ti. The table above follows the explicitly identified Support source and preserves this discrepancy instead of blending the models.

Security, drivers and other prerequisites

The specifications require DirectX 12 compatibility, broadband internet and an Intel/AMD processor with AVX support. Intel Arc GPUs additionally require Resizable Bar. Mandatory updates can increase the storage requirement.

Run the official security checks described in TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot. Meeting a listed CPU minimum does not establish that your firmware configuration passes attestation.

The supplied launch support page lists AMD 26.7.1, NVIDIA 616.56 and Intel 32.0.101.8974, with a separate note about the NVIDIA ASD-compatible release. These are dated recommendations; use the official support page and GPU vendor for a later driver decision.
