COD MW4 DMZ Solo & Squad Play
Official launch-era Deploy and progression guidance. No unverified solo-only queue or squad-size exploit is promised.
You can enter MW4 DMZ alone by turning Squad Fill off at Ready Up. With Squad Fill on, the official guide says the game adds two allied players. Solo entry changes who deploys with you; it does not by itself establish a separate, guaranteed solo-only lobby or remove rival Operators from Hajin.
Find the solo control
Choose your deployment
At the FOB, select your available Operator and an appropriate mission, Dynamic Operation or Free Roam. Continue to Ready Up.
Turn Squad Fill off
Use the Ready Up Squad Fill control to stop automatic allied filling. Check the visible squad before confirming.
Review the Loadout and enter
Prepare carried equipment or select the Free Loadout. Confirm the deployment knowing there is no automatic allied squad from Squad Fill.

What progression belongs to whom
Traits and Dog Tag progress belong to the Active Duty Operator used on that run. DMZ Cash, Resources, Ingredients and Stash content are shared across your own Active Duty roster; that does not mean every other player automatically owns the items in your Backpack.
Tracked Story Missions, Dynamic Operations and Side Ops appear on the squad HUD, while Orders are separately displayed. Check each objective’s actual requirement before assuming a teammate’s action or your own exfil completes every player’s directive.
Solo entry is not a promise about every encounter
The official environment guide describes rival players, proximity communication and a Ping Wheel for requests including truce and assimilation. These are in-zone systems; disabling Squad Fill only controls automatic allies at deployment.
No platform-specific solo-only guarantee or universal assimilation limit is established here. A solo Operator still faces the documented gear and MIA risks, so plan the exit and take the equipment your objective requires.
