COD MW4 Campaign Length
October 20, 2026 reviewer observation and estimate. Difficulty and optional-content coverage differ between runs.
Polygon estimates roughly eight to ten hours for the MW4 Campaign. Ford James reached the credits in nine hours, including a replay caused by a bug and some exploration. His estimate rises to around twelve to thirteen hours if you finish everything in Stranded; it is not a measured completion time for every player.
What the nine-hour observation includes
Ford James describes a nine-hour review run, one repeated mission after a bug, and roughly half of Stranded’s content before continuing the story. Those conditions matter: the number is not a clean speedrun or a full optional-completion record.
The official early-access announcement confirms sixteen Campaign missions. Mission count does not supply a fixed time per mission, so dividing the estimate equally across all sixteen would be misleading.

What makes a run longer
The reviewer identifies difficulty as a major variable, especially repeated deaths on Veteran. He also describes Stranded as an open section where players can travel to the three main objectives or spend much longer exploring.
The twelve-to-thirteen-hour figure is his expectation for clearing everything in Stranded, not this site’s full-completion timing. If you are only looking for a lock answer, the Stranded code table helps you find that specific task.
Use the range for planning
Budget the story estimate as a source-attributed range, then allow more time for higher difficulty, retries and optional exploration. No representative sample of all difficulty levels or all players was supplied.
The campaign-length estimate also says nothing about how long Multiplayer, DMZ progression or a camo grind will take. Those are separate activities.
Follow the sixteen-mission walkthrough for objective order and completion markers. Check the mission reward table separately when planning a replay.
