COD MW4 Standard vs Vault Edition
Official edition and launch announcements. Timed preorder benefits and later-season content retain their own eligibility dates.
Standard and Vault both include Modern Warfare 4’s base game. Vault adds operator packs, the Signature Weapon Collection, one season of BlackCell and a DMZ Deployment Bonus. For the base game alone, Standard is the direct option; digital and physical Standard have different early-access and upgrade conditions.

What the Vault extras do
Hostile Alliance contains Price, Valeria, Ghost and Blix operator content. Special Forces contains COM SFT, KSK Amphibious, South Korean Special Forces and SAS, including their local-language voice packs. These cosmetic/performance identities do not establish Campaign events.
The Signature Weapon Collection contains Kastov 762 “Voltspine,” ISO Nightshade “La Sombra Venenosa,” Rezi 12 “Shattered Code,” Oris 8.6 “Volt-Edge” and Combat Knife “Sombra Besada.” BlackCell applies to one available season, under the publisher’s season-specific conditions.
The DMZ guide says Vault owners start with three Active Duty slots instead of two. A weapon blueprint in DMZ is not an unlimited protected deployment item; see blueprint loss and rebuying.
Upgrade and loyalty conditions
Standard Digital can be upgraded later on the same purchase platform. The publisher lists US$30 SRP or a regional equivalent. Physical Standard cannot be upgraded through this offer.
The 10% loyalty offer is a qualifying Vault preorder offer, not an upgrade discount. Compare the dated price examples with the store’s current eligible offer.
Which option fits your goal?
Choose Standard if you want Campaign, Multiplayer and DMZ without paying for the listed Vault extras. This is a comparison of included content, not a claim that either edition performs better.
Vault is relevant if you want those packs, the season benefit and the extra starting DMZ slot. Evaluate those specific extras against the additional price; ownership of Vault is not required simply to play the three base modes.
